Update: Christmas 2007

Hey all, Merry Christmas! Happy New year! Yeah... OK =] I'm done...

So anyways, Christmas is kinda quiet this year. We had some friends over last night and we went to see "National Treasure 2". It was an OK movie, not as good as the first one though. Then this morning I got up at like 9:-- and we just finished opening presents. I got a kool model Yamaha motorcycle from David, and from mom and dad I got the new Casting Crowns CD, "The Altar and the Door", and Chris Rice's "What a heart is beating for" CD.

I must say though, I don't feel the so-called "Christmas Spirit". I think part of it is my girlfriend (yes people, I have a girlfriend, her name is Aiching, see about her in the previous update) and I haven't talked much since school got out... Her birthday was yesterday you know... And we planned on going out tomorrow but haven't set anything up. Quite honestly I am lonely and not in a festive mood... I think I need a Pepsi Max... No, it's only 11:34AM, to early... maybe some coffee... AAAAHHHHHH! I have a headache! =[ Pray for me guys, I think I'm losing it, wait, I lost it a while ago =P

btw, one of my friends from the US really could use some prayer. She is really depressed and the only thing keeping her from suicide is a promise to me, and honestly I don't know how strong that promise is. Not that I don't trust her, but I've been where she is and I know you are not always in control of your emotions or actions. So please pray for her =[

Anyways, Merry Christmas, Happy New Years. We are leaving for New Zealand in 2 days and will be gone until Jan. 14th, so I'll probably update again on Jan. 15th or 16th.

See yah All!

Blast from the past! (Update from 12/6/07)

OK, for those of you who didn't know, December 6th was my birthday. It was fairly quiet (the way I like it =P ) and we didn't celebrate much. But I did get some kool things. Up on top is a stuffed shark I got who I named "Lord Sharktooth" =P . Up with him is "Baron Von Borsch" the Vampire bear =] And last but not least, down below is "Euterpe", my new Yamaha acoustic/electric guitar =D. Euterpe is named after the Greek muse of music.

Update: 12/9/07 (Christmas Banquet)

OK, so last night I went to the Christmas Banquet, and had a great time =]

The theme was "The Nutcracker" and the dinner was chicken, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. My date was (of course) Aiching.
Above you see (from left to right) Kirk, Me, Jacob, Sydnye, Gary, Jessica, and Norm. Below is me and Aiching, in my opinion she was the prettiest girl there ;)

Update 11/26/07

Whazzup all? OK so first, next week on Thursday is my Birthday! I'm gonna be 17, one step closer to being out on my own and all.... scary huh? I know I'm scared =P

Also, next week on Saturday is what is called "Christmas Banquet", and the thing about this is that the tradition at Dalat International (and I know my teacher Mr. Klassen is reading this ;) ) is the girl has to ask the guy, instead of the other way around. So anyways, I gotta' date (and she is the prettiest girl on campus) and I'm so excited =D I just hope I can find a tie and dress shirt between now and then =P

On another note, I almost have Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a prayer" song memorized on guitar! With power chords! I'm having problems with the last chorus though, 'cause the chords are different for the last one from the first ones.

Update 11/17/07

Wow... where to start..... First I'm sorry I haven't updated this sooner, but I've been kinda busy and really nothing has happened much =P But I'll try to give you as much as I can that has happened since the last time I reported in.

First, last Wednesday there was a "Track and Feild Day", where the whole of Dalat divided into 4 teams, Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. I was on the Yellow team and did Shotput, Discus, and 100m dash. Unfortunately I cam in last in Shotput and 100m and didn't even qualify for Discus =P I know, lame, but I had fun and that is all that matters, yah? Oh, and I came away with an awesome sunburn on my arms, neck, face, and legs =D It is like soooooo red, but it doesn't glow in the dark so.... =/

Oh, for you Facebook users, if you want you can look me up. I just got an account.

OK, totally awesom quote I found:

"A friend will visit you in jail, a good friend will bail you out of jail, but a best friend will be sitting next to you saying "That was awesome...!!!""

=D So whose a best friend here? ;) Just kidding!

Oh, you'll see in the picture my favorite dog Cheyenne.... I miss her so much... =[

Ok, that's like all I can think of right now, except ther are some really nasty rumors going around at school, please pray tat they will go away and not hurt to may people. Thanx!

So that's it, I'll try to report in more often.

God Bless ya'll! =D

Update: 10/20/2007

Well, here's the next part of the enthralling story of the Sharktooth, filled with danger, romance, dissapointment, and excitement!

OK, so incase you didn't know, there are two gals at the school I go to who have crushes on me, one of them is really serious, but really shy, especially around me. So a few mutual friends set us up on a date at the mall next door to the condo Ilive at. The four of us met at the mall and then went to eat at McDonalds. When leaveing the other two dissapeared into the croud, leaving me and the on girl alll alone. =P It was very interesting, esp since when ever I tried to talk to her, she would smile, turn red, and stammer out a vauge answer. For a first date, and a first set-up, I think it whent fairly well. And to assure those who might read this and be worried and/or jealous, I'm still sticking to my no dating till 18 rule.

On other notes, Life is OK. It is still humid, I'm gradually improving on guitar, and I just beat both my "X-men: Wolverine's Revenge" and "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2" X-box games. (And thanx Jacob for the "Wolverine" game).

Also, I managed to aquire the "Phantom of the Opera" soundtrack, and have been listening to it 24/7 =P I'm also trying to get mom to by the movie from the store. =]

Well, anyways, that's all for now, talk to ya'll later!

Update 9/28/07

Sorry it has taken me so long to update this, we are leaveing for a church service thing soon so I'll make this as long as I can in a short time. On Sunday I'm doing a Drama thing for the kid's service at our church. So pray that goes well (I get to play the Devil, go figures =P ).
No offence to all you people aout there, but if you want to make friends easily and fast, move to Malaysia and go to Dalat International School =P. I have made more friends inn the short time I've been here than ever in my enire life. It is almost scary, especially because I am so used to staying on the outside and having to force my way into groups and stuff, here they just take me as I am and while alot of good-natured teaseing goes around, we are really good friends.
One thing to pray about, I have discovered that there are two girls in my class that have a crush on me. And while they know I know no action has been taken by either me or them. I'm afraid that something might happen and our relationship we have now as friends will be ruined by some imagined shadow that hangs over us. So pray that everything will work out and we will remain friends.
Holy cow, I think this is the longest blog entry I've ever written =P let's make it longer shall we?
I'm taking guitar lessens, and my teacher is going to teach me how to play Brad Paisley's "Whiskey Lullaby" (at least I hope we can pull it off). Also on Tuesday I'm going to try out for the Dalat Worship band, pray that goes well.

OK, I had a really weird experience (for me anyways). We live one building away from Gurney Mall, and today I went over and hung out with some other kids from Dalat. I have never just went out with a group of people I knew and bought drinks (pop of course) and just walked around and goofed offf. Well that was what we did, and it was FUN! I hope to do it again soon.

Also I've been collecting Wolverine: Origins comic books =P I knw, I'm crazy. But I can get them for like 11RM here, which is like.... $4 US... I think,, my exchange figures aren't always right =P.

So anyways, that's what's going on right now. Go check out my 'art' blog http://yeshua-wordplay.blogspot.com/ and see the picture I drew. tell me what you think.

Talk to ya all later!

Talent Show

OK, so tonight there was this Talent Show thing at my school to celebrate "Spiritual Emphisis(sp?) Week" that has been going on. So I entered with the Eagles' "Hotel California" and won 1st place. But I don't feel excited about winning, yet everyone at school says I should. Am I mixed up (more than normal I mean =P ) or do I just not care about winning so much? I dunno. Maybe I'm just tired and will get excited tomorrow =P (it is 12:16AM here) I'm also thinking of giving someone else the prize (a gift certificate to Chilis restaraunt). So anyways, that's what just happened, write more later. Byte!

In route to Dalat

Here is a description of part of my bus ride to school every day.

"You sit on the retaining wall in front of the sign that reads “The Regency”. Your backpack wrests against your leg and “World of Chemistry” sits on the white concrete next to you. As Kutless blares from the Sony headphones around your neck, you squint your eyes against the morning sun and scan the road down the “Silverton” in search of the bus. Another Dalat International School student sits farther down the wall with an elder woman you can only assume is his mother, speaking quietly in what appears to be Malay. But you can’t hear them enough over Skillet’s latest and greatest to be sure. The bus pulls up and you and the other boy head for the door while the three Sullivan children make a mad dash for the old yellow bus from the Regency’s steps.
As you climb on the aged bus, you sarcastically ask yourself whether people could be anymore awake at 7:40am. In-route to you usual seat right behind the bus driver your eyes flick across the occupants of the bus. A couple of kids who appear to be grade schoolers sit in the two seats right behind yours. Across the aisle is a young girl who you guess to be about ten. Behind her sits the Sullivan children and behind their three rows is an elder high schooler who sits with ear buds in his ears and his head wresting against the seatback. On the long bench along the back of the bus are seated two other girls. The one on the driver’s side you know is Nia. She sits with her black hair falling in her face staring sleepily out the window. She also is listening to some silent song emitted from her ear buds. On the other side of the bus is a girl who you’ve talked to on occasion, but haven’t caught her name. As usual she sits with a discontented look on her face, ignoring everything around her.
And so goes the bus ride throughout Penang to Dalat International School."

Sappy greeting card message: "Greetings From Malaysia!"

Hey people! Whazzup? This is Lord Sharktooth sayin' 'hi' from Penang Malaysia! The view you see above is like 1/4 of the view from our balcony at The Regency. We live on the 27th floor (there is like 36 of 'em). I've been going to school and unlike the US where I could fade into the crowd, here I'm the American who everyone notices =P The food they got here is awesome! (and I don'tmean like the Chilis and Starbucks at the mall nextdoor, I mean like Chinese and Indian food!) Oh yeah, did I tell you there is a mall next door!? It has like 6 floors and has everything from Toys-R-Us to and iStore! And the beach is right across the road two (see below pic)

So anyways, that is the quicky run-down of weeks 1-2 of being in Malaysia, write more later.

Hi

I'm Lord Sharktooth, also known as Josh. This is to be my record of certain moments of my life, and an outlet for the creative energies that keep people like me up at night. This blog will be slightly biased towards Christianity, but I hope to keep it fairly neutral so all can read it and feel comfortable doing so.
